Holden, Edith
However, I do not recall whether I attended school in Hietzing. Until 1938 we lived in a large block of apartments on the corner of Hütteldorfer Straße and Mossbacher Gasse which, I understood, was in Hütteldorf. Our apartment was taken from us after the „Anschluss“ and we were evicted. I was only nine years old at the time we left Vienna and, post „Anschluss“ and prior to our departure in January 1939, our residence was with my paternal grandmother in Mariahilfer Straße. I do recall that my daily walk to school with my father was quite a long one. I also recall, quite vividly, that my teacher at that time made my life a misery as often as she could by verbal abuse and denigration in front of the class.
