About us

From 2008 onwards, the Wiener Volkshochschulen have been organized as a non-profit company with limited liability. Owners of the Wiener Volkshochschulen are the Verband Wiener Volksbildung (74,9%) and the City of Vienna (25,1%). The work of the Volkshochschulen is supported by the honorary Volkshochschul-associations in the districts.

Offering the Viennese population citywide and low-threshold education is our main purpose.

Currently, the Wiener Volkshochschulen employ roughly 700 employees. Additionally, approximately 3.000 course tutors are contracted at the moment.
